Is it safe to order dvds over the internet through international (U.S and Asian websites) dvd online stores?

I am a bit suss about redistribution my credit card details on these websites. Australian sites and stores do not have the t.v box sets I am after. What do populace think about the international online dvd stores? Do you trust them and use them?

I use www.cd-wow.com. It works for me.

I have a DVD from Italy that I yearn for to watch but it will not work in my dvd player. Is there a program I can download on my computer to watch this DVD? I be acquainted with its in a different format then the DVD's here in the US.
